Director’s Letter – Oct. 2025

In October 2025, we served 3,008 family units, 9,366 individuals, and 120,320 pounds of food. Increasingly, more families are finding themselves in need of help. With the government shutdown
pending, we are expecting these numbers to climb. Your support is greatly appreciated as our numbers continue to climb.

We are now having to purchase our own meat. The North Texas Food Bank is doing everything possible to continue to get food but the quantities are limited. With food prices soaring, we are not able to purchase meat. We are asking for canned meat of any kind. Tuna, chicken, ham, Spam, Vienna sausage or any other type of canned meat.

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. We will be serving turkeys, hams, hens, and roasts along with the “fixings”. We will be serving Thanksgiving baskets on Mon, Tues, and Wed November 24, 25, and 26, before Thanksgiving on Thursday the 27th. If anyone is interested in volunteering one, two or all three days, please let us know. In addition, we will be serving Christmas baskets on Mon and Tues Dec 22 and 23. We are expecting a record number of people. We will need help, and this is a great opportunity to serve your neighbors!

We are collecting cranberry sauce, gravy, and corn bread. We are still in need of “tote bags”. Walmart sells them for 87 cents and Brookshires sells them for $1 each. We can re use them.
